House of Steel uses SIPS (Structuraly Insulated Panel System) Construction to achieve all the advantages listed on the fornt of this broshcue. We specifically use steel insulated panels to create the ultimate steel stud walls. The panels are built much like an Oreo cookie. They have 2 outer layers of steel and one layer of expanded polystyrene foam in the center. All three layers are bonded together to achieve an insulated panel. These panels are joined together to form the energy efficiency core building, with the unique added strength of steel interior and exterior walls.

Better Indoor Air Quality

Every noticed that no matter how much you clean your home you have those little dust bunnies? The are formed by seepage through your walls. Air is constantly seeping in and bringing dust and dirt from outside your home. You won't have dust bunnies with a SIPS constructed home. The quality of the air will also be cleaner. The pollens, mold and mildew are locked outside along with those dust bunnies. For people with allergies a SIPS constructed home will help eliminate exposure to irritants.

Faster Construction

SIPS construction goes up much faster than a conventional stick built house. A four man crew can dry in a complete shell in an average of 4 to 5 days. We still have to follow the same step by step process of building a house exlcuding the framing, insulation and sheating phase. In general, the time saving is about 2-3 weeks.

Interior and Exterior Finish

Steel house are finished exactly the same way stick built houses are. The exterior can be Stucco, Brick, Vinyl Siding or Hardy Plank. The interior is usually finished with drywall. Attic space is conditioned and can be easily converted into a Bonus Room, used as a vaulted ceiling or as storage.

Tighter and More Energy Efficient

A SIPS built house is generally 15 times tighter than a stick built house. This translates into energy savings and better air quality. House of Steel will have a "RESNET" (Residential Energy Service Network) Audit done on completion of your home. An energy star rating will be awarded. This will automatically qualify you for an energy efficient loan. This rating gives your home automatic additional value. Reduced utilities make the true cost of ownership lower.

Termite & Fire Resistant

Termites must have food and mositure to survive. Homes built of seel and expanded polystyrene foam will provide neither of these necessary elements for termites. Steel skins also perform extremely well to intense heat conditions in "Room burn tests." During the UL test, 1715 steel panels exceeded industry standards by a wide margin.
